The National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity (NAPE) Education Foundation is a champion for Equal Opportunity.
NAPE’s mission is to build the capacity of educators to implement effective solutions for increasing student access, educational equity and workforce diversity. NAPE makes efforts to promote equity and diversity through our educational programs, through our hiring practices and through an increase in the level of participation by minority and women-owned business enterprises in our procurement process.
NAPE defines a diverse business enterprise as one that 51 percent or more owned, operated, and managed by someone who fits in one or more of following categories:
- Minority who is a US citizen or permanent legal resident
- Woman who is a US citizen or permanent legal resident
- Veteran who is a US citizen or permanent legal resident
- Person with disabilities who is a US citizen or permanent legal resident
- LGBTQ owner who is a US citizen or permanent legal resident
- Disadvantaged business (owner is US citizen or permanent legal resident)
Or, a business that is:
- Located in an Historically Underutilized Zone (HUBZone); operating in and employing HUBZone residents.
NAPE supports supplier diversity by announcing significant procurement opportunities, maintaining vendor MWBE and HUBZone status and certification records, and encouraging vendors to seek MWBE status.
