Research & Effective Practice

NAPE is the nation’s leading organization on issues of educational access, equity, and diversity. Our members share a belief that every student can achieve their dreams and NAPE provides a community of support, helping educators improve educational systems to make this happen.

Root Causes and Strategies

Nontraditional Career Preparation: Root Causes & Strategies is a literature review organized into research theories, evidence, recommendations and strategies, and effective practice and resources based upon root causes. It is designed to be used by CTE professionals at secondary and postsecondary institutions. The information is most effectively utilized when embedded in a program improvement process that involves self-study.

Nontraditional Occupations Crosswalk

Building on the work of the national Crosswalk Validation Project, NAPE has updated its designations of nontraditional Classification of Instructional Program (CIP) codes to reflect revisions made to the codes by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) in 2010. State and local education agencies have used NAPE’s Nontraditional Crosswalk since 2007 to collect data for the Perkins IV nontraditional core indicators.
