NAPE Seeking Full-Time Communications Associate

The NAPE Education Foundation seeks a full-time Communications Associate to play an important role in communicating the Foundation’s mission and message. The Communications Associate assists in the development and maintenance of the Foundation’s image and identity. The position serves as a liaison to the NAPE Education Foundation Board and NAPE Executive Committee and their respective committees and subcommittees as well as the Business Alliance Council. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in staff and committee meetings and take minutes to support record keeping and communication. Prepare agendas and other materials and distribute to attendees.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of marketing materials as requested.
  • Organize leadership meetings and schedule and coordinate logistical arrangements. Work with the CEO to create agenda, and prepare meeting material.
  • Manage NAPE’s web presence via Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to consistently articulate NAPE’s mission. Prepare timely posts and keep updated on current issues in equity in education and workforce development.
  • Serve as primary point of first contact for incoming calls to the NAPE Office.
  • Compose routine correspondence or e-mail, in order to provide accurate information in a professional manner to colleagues, members, vendors, consultants, board members, and other constituents.
  • Edit and proofread materials (e.g., letters to the Board, state and affiliate members, sponsors; newsletters, minutes, letters to funders, meeting agendas) for accuracy and compliance with guidelines.
  • Maintain the contact database.
  • Answer inquiries in order to provide correct and timely information, guidance, and assistance. Appropriately refer to—or seek assistance from—colleagues to ensure that complex or unusual questions are answered in a correct and timely fashion.
  • Support the NAPE Education Foundation CEO by screening emails, maintaining calendar, and making travel arrangements as requested.
  • Maintain master calendar of meetings, professional development events, and conferences.
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and convening of the annual National Summit for Educational Equity and membership meetings.
  • Maintain National Office library and classification of new items.
  • Work as liaison for special projects, article reprints, drafting special pieces for website etc. to ensure flow of work is not interrupted and deadlines are met.
  • Demonstrate and maintain technical knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Dropbox, Basecamp, Meeting Wizard, Sharepoint, Constant Contact etc. Willingness to learn new software packages and train staff.

Qualifications

  • College degree in related field.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in online collaboration tools and financial and project software such as Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Outlook, Project, SharePoint, Basecamp, Dropbox, Constant Contact, Adobe Connect, WebEx, Salesforce, Google, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Word Press, Drupal, etc.
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated strength at multi-tasking, detail-oriented work and a team approach to working with internal and external partners.

Location at the national office, Gap, PA
