As an equity practitioner, my NAPE membership is key to being connected to the latest state and local educational equity practices. I share NAPE’s resources with Hawaii’s educational community to encourage dialogue, collaboration, and collective innovation.

Joining NAPE as a state member is sure way of gaining access to a treasure trove of resources that aren't readily available from any other organization or association. NAPE consultants provide expert advice and are readily available to assist administrators.

Being part of NAPE has made me better at teaching because now I have the capability of reaching out to underrepresented students in a way that encourages them and helps them to feel empowered. My circle of colleagues has also grown because of my participation in NAPE.

I attended my first NAPE PDI in 1999 or 2000, and I have been a loyal NAPE enthusiast ever since. I value many things about NAPE, but the Summit is especially important to me. I value the relationships developed over 20 years of attending first the PDI and now the Summit, and the Summit is where I go to get inspired and re-charged each year to continue our equity work in Vermont. The Summit feeds me personally and professionally. It's good for the mind, heart, and soul.
