E3 Alliance Partners with NAPE for Equity in the Math Pipeline

“Collaborating with the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity and the five districts participating in their work, along with our own area school districts and institutions of higher learning, we have the greatest opportunity to increase the number of students in advanced math and successful course completion.”
 – Thymai Dong, PdD, Director of Community Solutions, E3 Alliance

NAPE is pleased to announce that our two year partnership with the E3 Alliance has been extended for three more years. Since 2018, with funding from the Greater Texas Foundation, the E3 Alliance has partnered with NAPE on E3’s Pathways of Promise initiative to improve equity in math acceleration and instruction for Central Texas students.

Teams of educators from five districts learned best practices from E3 Alliance and participated in NAPE’s suite of Comprehensive Educational Equity Programs. Through Pathways of Promise, the percentage of students completing Algebra 1 by the end of eighth grade is rapidly increasing and Central Texas has the highest completion rate in the state at 41%. For an example of the impact, watch this video of the Jackson sisters success at PFC Robert P. Hernandez Middle School, part of the Stony Point Learning Community in Round Rock ISD.

Thanks to a  follow-on grant from the Greater Texas Foundation, NAPE’s work with the E3 Alliance will continue for another three years with a focus on closing the math pipeline gaps for Black, Hispanic, and low income students.
