Civil Rights Compliance for Race-Targeted or Sex-Specific Programming
(Wednesday, July 8, 2015, from 2-3pm ET)
During the webinar, Office of Civil Rights staff will describe and explain the legal obligations of school districts under federal law (particularly Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, and the U.S. Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause) when they seek to implement race-targeted or sex-specific curricular or extracurricular programs.
District officials, staff, and other interested persons will have the opportunity to ask questions on how to comply with federal civil rights laws while developing programs that target their recruiting or services on discrete populations in need.
No RSVPs are required. Please feel free to forward to others you think might be interested.
