Career Communications, Inc. recently received a 2013 National APEX Award for Publication Excellence for the company’s American Careers Parent Resource Guide. The Guide was developed to provide parents with the background needed to help their children plan for future education and a career. The publication also supports NAPE’s efforts to expand career opportunities for men and women, especially in high-skill, high-demand, high-wage nontraditional career fields. States, school districts and schools use the publication to support career development, educational planning and parent involvement.
According to Barbara Orwig, CCI president and publisher, “The American Careers Parent Resource Guide is indicative of all of the work that we do to build awareness of careers and the education needed to succeed in the 21st century workplace. Research shows that parent involvement matters when it comes to education and careers. That’s why we created the Parent Resource Guide.”
