NAPE is pleased to announce its partnership with nearly 20 state and national organizations, as part of the 100kin10 ESSA Solutions Lab, which just launched Every Student Succeeds with STEM. This site was created to provide support to state and local education agencies as they seek to understand and implement the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
As an organization committed to ensuring equity in programs preparing students for college and careers, specifically expanding opportunities in nontraditional and STEM careers, NAPE believed it was imperative to be involved in this 100kin10 Solutions Lab. We are indeed proud to partner with these other organizations that share a commitment to communicating the benefits of STEM programs, because they help achieve the goals of ESSA to provide an equitable and well-rounded education for all students.
Although NAPE strongly encourages you to explore the new website and take advantage of the helpful information, there are a few resources that you might want to review now. To receive ESSA funding, all state ESSA plans must include a stakeholder engagement process and be approved by the Department of Education. ESSA funds can be used for a variety of programs and services including professional development. Many states are still working on their ESSA plans, and now is a good time to get engaged, if you aren’t already. We encourage you to take a part in the stakeholder engagement process, and below are a few resources that might assist you as you seek to get involved.
