National expert and leader in career and technical education confirmed as closing Summit speaker

The National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity is proud to announce that the President of the Institute for Educational Leadership and champion of student success, Dr. Johan E. Uvin, will deliver the closing keynote address at the 2019 National Summit for Educational Equity.

Dr. Johan E. Uvin, the President of the Institute for Educational Leadership, is a collaborative leader with a background in education and workforce development. At the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Career, Technical and Adult Education (OCTAE), Johan served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy and Strategic Initiatives as the Acting Assistant Secretary and the acting director of the Policy Research and Evaluation Services. Johan led Rhode Island’s state office overseeing adult education, career and technical education, and GED testing. He has a doctorate in administration, planning and social policy and an Ed.M. from Harvard University and a Master’s of Arts in teaching English to speakers of other languages from the School of International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont.
