NAPE PDI Save the Date FINALDear NAPE Colleagues,

The National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity (NAPE) continuously works to build an equity community with its members and is always interested in your ideas and feedback. Keeping that in mind, NAPE would like to announce that it is inviting you to enter a NAPE-sponsored contest to decide the theme of the 2014 Professional Development Institute (PDI)!

The person who comes up with the most creative theme idea that best embodies NAPE's mission will win complimentary conference registration to their choice of the 2013 or 2014 PDI, a value of $575.00. To enter, follow the three simple rules below.

Contest Rules

  1. You must be a fan of the NAPE Facebook page. "Like" NAPE's page and post your suggestion directly onto the NAPE Facebook timeline. You can also cut and paste the following into your web browser https://www.facebook.com/NAPEquity.
  2. Your theme idea must be centered on the mission and goals of NAPE. (Click here to directly link to NAPE's goals and mission statement.)
  3. Your theme submission must be posted to the NAPE Facebook timeline by Thursday, January 31, 2013, by 11:59 PM (EST). You may enter one suggestion per week up until the close of the contest.

Remember to be innovative; you will have better odds winning if your theme suggestion is fresh and inventive. For your reference, listed are the themes from the past 5 PDIs.

  • 2012--Access, Equity, and Diversity: We've Got an App for That!
  • 2011--Equity Matters in College & Careers
  • 2010--A New Decade for Equity
  • 2009--Partners on the Path to Equity
  • 2008--Working Together for Economic Equity

The contest winner may choose between complimentary registration to either the 2013 or 2014 PDI!

Contest Details

The Name the NAPE 2014 PDI Theme is now open and will close Thursday, January 31, 2013, at 11:59 PM (EST). All contest entries must be posted to the NAPE Facebook page. NAPE will not accept submissions via email or through the Facebook message option. All contest entries posted to the NAPE Facebook page will be collected by NAPE Research Assistant Elizabeth Tran.

The PDI planning committee will select the theme from the conference theme suggestions posted to the NAPE Facebook page. In the event that contest participants have submitted similar 2014 PDI theme suggestions, the contest winner will be drawn randomly. The contest winner will be responsible for arranging his or her own travel and paying hotel fees. Should no appropriate theme be submitted for the 2014 PDI, there will be no winner.
