House
Will Mark Up Perkins Funding Bill on Wednesday, July 18
|
The House Labor, Health and Human Services, and
Education Appropriations Subcommittee will mark up its Fiscal Year
(FY) 2013 funding bill on Wednesday, July 18. The bill will include
funding for Perkins along with other federal education and workforce
training programs. As we reported, the Senate Appropriations
Committee has already approved its appropriations bill, which
provided level funding for Perkins. This was great news for CTE, but
we need to keep up the pressure on Congress. There is not much time
left to act!
- Call
your Representatives
one more time (especially those who are members of the Appropriations
Subcommittee).
- Tell
them how important Perkins funding is to CTE programs and
students in their district.
- Ask
them for their support in maintaining funding for Perkins!

involved in a number of initiatives to increase diversity in
America's workforce and to increase opportunities in high-skill,
high-wage, high-demand careers. Among these is the National Science
